I will share it with all of you[:D] I was at the Norwalk this pass Monday with Dave, JaRRod, Tom, Trent, and Kevin. All while everyone was running 9.3's and faster in there Evo's (AZZHOLES) I was replacing a rear end[:p] I figured I would share the pic's with everyone of what happens after 3 years of racing my car... I just figured an axle before this[V] My dog 9sec9 came through with lending me his rear end to get home! Thanks Tom! It is a complete loss, I was gonna rebuild the rear end. I called the dealer and got a quote of $500 to rebuild it for parts and come to find out the VIII rear end is different from the IX's, I figured they where the same?... but the only way to get the parts at that price was if I give the parts manager a ride at the dealer:D He couldnt beleive the car went a 9.8 with EVERYTHING still in the car... A/C, ABS, Air Bags, seats and all while driving to the track and home again:) Then later apon inspection I found the cast iron housing was busted internally:( My new rear end should be here Monday or Tuesday. My home boy Mike at AWD Motorsports has 1 in route to me. Its a used 8500 mile unit. Here is the video[:D] thanks JaRRod! http://videos.streetfire...-not-so-good_191914.htm Buschur sponsered Evo IX Buschur Built and Tuned... Not going to shoot for replacing this stuff with aftermarket/racing parts? I mean 3 years is a long time to race on stock stuff, but you arnt worried about it happening again as your car gets faster?

I have always lived by "if it aint broke, dont fix it".

There are no upgraded rear ends for Evo's. There upgradeable diff's but they dont break, its the pinion that goes. I am getting this new one cryo treated. And it goes back in. I also see it like this... over 200 passes down the 1/4 mile close to 50 of which are on this year alone, I think the whole drivetrain in the car is for the most part bullit proof.

I'm not sure how the EVO drivetrain works, but if he were to have driven home with no rear diff it would have caused other stuff to have mass catastrophic failure due to overuse on the front. Also it's not like my quattro AWD system where it's 100% all the time 50%front 50%rear. It uses a viscous coupler that would have overheated and went to poo poo also.

Again, this is just speculation. Im sure I'm wrong about parts and Jeff will fill you in.

Yeah I cant bitch about the car busting a rear end. Its the only thing I have ever broken on the car... it the only problem I have had with the car EVER.

I am installing the new rear today.
